Connecting Educators with Local History

Posted Date: 07/23/26 (07:05 PM)

It’s often the quiet, hard work behind the scenes that creates the biggest impact for our students and schools! 🌟
Huge shoutout to Madison Galle, Social Studies Specialist at Region 14 Education Service Center, for his incredible vision and dedication to expanding educational opportunities across the Abilene area.
Madison took an idea—how to bring regional history and resources directly to students—and turned it into two massive, sold-out events:
* Curriculum Partners Showcase at The Grace Museum, connecting local museums, parks, and historic sites directly with educators.
* Texas History Resource Showcase at Frontier Texas, bringing together state agencies, universities, and historic sites to support classroom learning.

Thanks to Madison’s efforts, educators discovered a wealth of interdisciplinary resources across Social Studies, ELA, Math, and Science—creating new opportunities for organizations like the State Longhorn Herd at Fort Griffin to share Texas history with young learners.
