File Formatting & Validation
Use TEA’s required templates. Match district/campus/teacher codes exactly and ensure growth measure and designation fields align with your approved system.
| Column | Example Entry | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| District ID | 221901 | 6-digit TEA district code |
| Campus ID | 041 | TEA campus code |
| Teacher ID | 123456 | PEIMS / TEA UID |
| Service ID | 02500100 | Course/assignment code |
| Designation | Exemplary | Recognized / Exemplary / Master |
| Growth Measure | STAAR | STAAR / SLO / District Determined |
| % Meeting Growth | 68% | Local calculation or state measure |
Validation Tips: Upload a test file early to surface format errors; keep codes consistent across files; ensure rosters and assignments match.
Determining Growth Measures for “District Determined”
For teacher categories without STAAR progress or where growth is locally defined, districts must select a valid local measure and document the method thoroughly.
- List teacher groups requiring a local growth metric (e.g., fine arts, CTE, early grades).
- Select the metric: SLO, pre/post assessment, rubric/portfolio, or other approved method.
- Define calculation: target setting, scoring rules, and “meets/exceeds” thresholds.
- Standardize across campuses and store exemplars/evidence for audit.
- Record the final % Meeting Growth in the submission template.

- Communicate outcomes and next steps to campus leadership.
